Chiropractic Care in Tampa & Brandon

Care for the whole spine and the joints of the arms and legs, matched to the person.

In short: Chiropractic care uses hands-on and instrument adjustments to improve how joints move. At Natural Healing of Tampa Bay it covers the full spine plus shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and feet, with the technique chosen for each patient.

What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractic care focuses on the joints of the spine and limbs and the muscles and nerves around them. An adjustment is a controlled movement applied to a joint that is not moving well. The aim is better motion, less irritation and more comfortable function.

Dr. Lambert’s main focus is the upper cervical spine. Many patients also need care for the rest of the spine or for a shoulder, knee or ankle, and that is where the techniques below come in.

Techniques used

  • Activator Methods: a small hand-held instrument that delivers a quick, light impulse. Dr. Lambert is trained through Level 3.
  • Torque Release Technique and NUCCA: gentle upper cervical techniques Dr. Lambert uses at the Tampa office.
  • Diversified and Gonstead: hands-on adjustments to specific spinal joints.
  • Thompson: adjustments on a table with sections that drop slightly, so less force is needed.
  • Cox Flexion-Distraction: a gentle, rhythmic stretch of the low back on a specialized table.
  • Extremity adjustments: for shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles and feet.
  • Soft-tissue methods: including Graston Technique, myofascial release and Kinesio taping.

You will not receive every technique. Your provider chooses based on your exam, your comfort and how you respond.

What to expect at a visit

  1. Check-in. A short conversation about how you have been since your last visit.
  2. Assessment. Your provider checks posture, movement and the areas being treated. Dr. Lambert also uses muscle testing as part of his assessment.
  3. Care. Adjustments, plus any soft-tissue work or laser therapy in your plan.
  4. Next steps. Advice for home and when to return.

Follow-up visits take about 15 minutes. A new patient visit takes 30 to 60 minutes.

Who commonly seeks chiropractic care?

Patients commonly come in for back pain, neck pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, knee pain, elbow pain and sports injuries.

Is it safe?

Chiropractic care is widely used and serious complications are rare. Temporary soreness or stiffness after an adjustment is the most common reaction. Your provider screens for conditions that call for a different approach, and will refer you if chiropractic care is not appropriate.

Where it is offered

Tampa (Mondays) and Brandon (Monday–Thursday).

Frequently asked questions

Does an adjustment hurt?

Most adjustments are comfortable. Some people feel brief pressure, and mild soreness afterward is possible, much like after starting a new exercise.

What is the popping sound?

It is gas releasing from the joint fluid, like cracking a knuckle. Several techniques used here, including Activator and Advanced Orthogonal, produce no pop at all.

Do I have to keep coming forever?

No. The goal is to get you well in as few visits as possible. Some patients choose periodic checkups, and that is their decision.

Do you treat children?

Yes. Children 12 and under have their own fee schedule, listed on the New Patients page.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed to see a chiropractor in Florida.
