What is neuromuscular re-education?
Pain and injury change how you move. Some muscles switch off, others overwork, and the body settles into a workaround. That pattern often stays after the pain is gone. Neuromuscular re-education uses specific exercises and hands-on cueing to restore the original pattern.
The practice pairs it with adjustments on purpose. Restoring joint motion and then retraining the muscles around that joint gives improvements a better chance of lasting.
What a session involves
- Movement assessment: how you stand, bend, squat, reach and balance
- Activation work for muscles that are not doing their share
- Balance and joint position training
- Posture and core control exercises
- A short home program
Neuromuscular re-education is provided by Dr. Lambert and Dr. Cruz. A session takes about 15 minutes and is included in the chiropractic visit fee.
Who commonly needs it?
It is commonly part of care for back pain, neck pain, sports injuries, shoulder and knee problems, and balance concerns, including some cases of dizziness.
What results depend on
Retraining takes repetition. The work you do at home between visits matters as much as the session itself, and progress varies from patient to patient.
Where it is offered
Tampa (Mondays) and Brandon (Monday–Thursday).
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as physical therapy?
It uses some of the same principles. Here it is delivered as part of your chiropractic plan and is focused on the movement patterns tied to your condition.
Will I get exercises to do at home?
Yes. A short, specific home program is part of the process.
Does it hurt?
It should not. Exercises start at a level you can control and progress as you improve.
How long before I notice a change?
Coordination often improves within a few sessions. Strength and endurance take longer.
