What is a vibration plate?
A vibration plate, also called whole-body vibration, is a powered platform. You stand, squat or hold a simple position on it while it vibrates. Your muscles respond with quick, automatic contractions, so they work without heavy load on the joints.
How it fits with your care
The practice treats joints first and then the muscles that hold them. A vibration plate is one of the tools for the second part, alongside neuromuscular re-education. Your provider decides whether it fits your plan after your evaluation.
What a session feels like
A buzzing or tingling through the feet and legs. Sessions are short, and your provider shows you how to stand and what position to hold.
Check with us first if
Tell your provider if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or other implant, a joint replacement, recent surgery, or a history of blood clots. These affect whether a vibration plate is right for you.
