What the job does to the body
Firefighters, police and paramedics carry heavy gear, lift at awkward angles and spend long hours in a vehicle. A duty belt or vest shifts weight onto the low back and hips.
Nurses and other hospital staff lift and reposition patients, often twisting to do it, and stay on their feet for twelve hours at a time.
Teachers stand most of the day, bend over low desks and carry more weight than most people realize.
People in these jobs commonly seek care for:
- Low back pain and sciatica
- Neck pain and stiffness
- Shoulder pain
- Headaches and migraines
- Knee pain
How care works here
Every plan starts with an evaluation. Depending on what we find, your care may include:
- Chiropractic care for the spine, shoulders and knees
- Upper cervical care when the top of the neck is involved
- Class IV laser therapy for sprains and joint pain
- Therapeutic massage and deep tissue massage
- Neuromuscular re-education to retrain how you lift and move
The aim is to get you well in as few visits as possible. No outcome is promised.

Frequently asked questions
I hurt my back lifting at work. Can I come in?
Yes. No referral is needed.
Can I be seen after a night shift?
Both offices open at 8:00 AM, which can work for people coming off a night shift. Call to check availability.
Will my neck be twisted or cracked?
Not with an Advanced Orthogonal adjustment, which uses an instrument instead of a manual thrust. Any other technique is explained first and adapted to your comfort.
How many visits will I need?
It varies with your condition and how you respond. You will get an estimate at your evaluation.
