Why people travel for this care
Upper cervical chiropractic focuses on the first two vertebrae at the top of the neck. The Advanced Orthogonal approach measures their position on X-rays and corrects it with an instrument, without twisting or cracking the neck. Chiropractors with this instrument are not found in every town. Patients have traveled to this practice from 25 states and from five other countries: Argentina, Canada, Germany, Greece and New Zealand.
Patients commonly seek an upper cervical evaluation for:
- Migraines and chronic headaches
- Vertigo and dizziness
- Neck pain and stiffness
- Jaw pain
- Trigeminal neuralgia and facial pain
- Symptoms linked to the vagus nerve
- Symptoms that began after a whiplash injury
An evaluation shows whether this care is appropriate for you. It is not right for everyone, and no outcome is promised.
How a first visit works
- History and exam. We go through your symptoms, your history and any earlier care.
- X-rays. Upper neck X-rays are taken at an imaging center about a mile from our Brandon office and analyzed to measure the position of the atlas.
- The adjustment. If a correction is appropriate, the instrument delivers a light impulse behind the ear.
- The plan. You get an estimate of how many visits to expect and an explanation of how follow-up will work.
See what happens during an Advanced Orthogonal appointment for more detail.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral?
No. You can schedule directly.
Which office should I come to?
The Brandon office. Dr. Lambert does Advanced Orthogonal instrument adjustments there, Tuesday through Thursday. See the Brandon office page for the address and directions.
Does the adjustment hurt?
No. The Advanced Orthogonal adjustment is gentle, and most patients feel very little during the correction itself. See our article Does an atlas adjustment hurt?
Can I send my records or X-rays ahead of time?
Yes. Email your records and imaging reports to naturalhealingoftampabay@gmail.com before your visit. New X-rays are usually needed for the Advanced Orthogonal protocol, but bring all of your previous images so they can be reviewed.
How long should I plan to stay?
About one week to 10 days. The first visit and a follow-up can be booked on back-to-back days.
How many visits will I need?
It varies with your condition, the extent of the misalignment and how well the correction holds. You will get an estimate at your evaluation.
