What to Expect at Your First Chiropractic Appointment

Your first visit is mostly conversation and examination. Bring your medication list and any recent imaging, wear comfortable clothes, and expect to leave knowing what was found and what is recommended.

Before you arrive

  • Complete your new patient forms at home if you can.
  • List your medications and supplements.
  • Bring any imaging you have had, with the reports.
  • Wear clothes you can move in.

The conversation

Expect questions about your symptoms, work, sleep, activity and past injuries. Patients often mention that Dr. Lambert asks a lot of questions. That is deliberate. Details you might think are unrelated often point to the cause.

The exam

Your provider checks posture, movement, strength, reflexes and sensation, and examines the areas involved. If upper cervical care is being considered, neck X-rays are taken at an imaging center about a mile from our Brandon office.

Your results and plan

You will hear what was found, whether care here is appropriate, what is recommended and roughly how many visits to expect. If your problem needs a different kind of provider, you will be told that too.

Will I be adjusted the first day?

Usually, yes. The new patient visit includes an initial adjustment when the exam supports it.

What it costs

The practice is self-pay. For adults the new patient visit is $325 and includes the initial adjustment. Neck X-rays at the first appointment are $35, and follow-up visits are $100. For children 12 and under, the first visit is $162.50 and follow-ups are $50. See fees and payment for details, and read about your right to a Good Faith Estimate.

How long it takes

A new patient visit takes 30 to 60 minutes. Follow-up visits take about 15 minutes.
